16 or 17 inch alloys? - Xileno {P}
The Megane GT comes with the option of 16'' Kubera or 17'' Jarsalle Alloys.
One of the few complaints I have with my current Megane is the fidgety ride as it has 17'' alloys. If I get the 16's will the ride be better? And what about cruising, is this affected?
TIA

I would go 17" and have the slightly tauter feel and more sporty look though if you are not keen on the more "fidgety" ride either test a Similar Megane with 17"s or go for the 16"s. There must be diesel GTs on the demo fleet.

16" will also be quieter.

Really the only way to decide is to try them both.

16"s will save you 1 mpg compared with the 17"s, according to WhatCar.

Thanks for the replies. I will go for the 16's I think. If nothing else, the tyres will be cheaper.

I'd look at the cost of the tyres too .... I'm very unhappy withe the ride on my Primera with 17" wheels, when the tyres need replacing I will switch to 16" wheels & tyres, as fitted standard to lower spec cars. I know there will be a wheel cost, but the tyres are much cheaper and after a couple of changes of rubber I will be saving money.
Of course the more compliant ride will be welcome too.
