Audi A4 TDI 2001 at Auction - Sunny22
Right guys, thinking about buying one of these from an auction, like an ex company one. There seems to be a few about and i've signed up to auction view. Just wondering what to look out for? Checked the Car-by-Car Breakdown but i thought i'd get some feedback from actual owners?

Thanks in advance...

most co cars are sold between 3 and 4 ears old, so you've little chance of getting a 1 owner ex company car as old as 2001 are slim.

They're great cars to own but servicing is expense on them at main dealers and the frot suspension is prone to wear and not cheap to sort.

I agree with the above, if you do manage to find one of this age at auction there will probably be something wrong with it, and if there isn't you may end up paying too much. They are great cars though, and mine has done 50K more or less trouble-free miles. I would just be a bit more patient and keep an eye on the Auto Trader, there are still private sellers around with decent examples of these for sale.

Sorry prob should have made myself abit clearer, i want the model that came out in 2001 so even a 2002 car would be suitable. Looking a 1.9 TDi Sport with between 80-100k on the clock. Just dont know what to look out for...

I would suggest that you do a forum search for auction buyer & Joe Dowd

If you need to ask basics you should not be buying at auction on your own

You'll certainly see 2002 models coming off 4 year leases at auction. Never take kids etc. to car auctions - I always amazed at people who do. They are dirty, polluted, dangerous places totally unsuitable for kids and you'll spend more time looking after them than looking at the cars. Go on your own.

Just to add, some of the regular traders on ebay often seem to sell these sort of cars which might also be worth a look.
