idle problem with vw golf mk2 1.3 - hurstc1
hi everyone just need a little help with my golf....when i start it, it justs seems to rock the car all over the place....it only does this at idel....ive changed the spark plug and air fillter....the timeing belt and water pump are going to be changed as well...i wunder if its the auto chock on the car or could it be something eles.....thanks alot....chris

sounds like the carb needs looking at and setting up properly

Change all the little rubber air pipes around the carb, they rot and cause all sorts of problems especially at tickover.

Is it running on all 4 at higher revs?

the carb is probably mounted on a rubber base/gasket.....they often split, you can push n pull on the carb while its running to see if theres a problem

Just a thought, my Audi 80 shakes and misfires and splutters all over place when oil filler cap is not on right. I guess you have checked yours though?
