Passat at last a fault. - quizman
After a life of 5 years and 4 months my Passat has gone wrong for the first time.
The driver's window won't go up or down, there is just a sound of the motor.
Does anyone please know what to do to get it to work?

If the motor is running its probably the cable thats snapped on the regulator. Take the door panel off and have a look ;o)

I imagine it's a similar problem to what wonderwheels was having:-

Thanks DD for putting me onto the VW window forum. I think I will go to an indepedent VW garage in Derby to get it fixed, I have heard from 2 people that they are very good. I once had a go at mending my old Sierra's electric window and got into a proper mess! I might have a quick look though!

What can Stuartli and others have been saying? In alot of years owning cars, vans, Landrovers, tractors, combines and many more, this Passat is the most reliable thing I have ever owned. It has been so far a brilliant car, 45mpg and very fast , and as I have said very reliable.

Stuart made a passing comment which would have been fine but then someone else came along and started assuming everyone was getting on his back about VWs and starting whining about Fords.

Just a usual day in the BR really.
