1988 polo...it originaly had tungstenheadlamp bulbs in it , and someone has used some sort of conversion bulb , that have the same bases but halogen bulbs
anyone know what theyre called? i was hoping to pick some up on ebay or online
|
i think you mean it was originaly fitted with candles and been uprated to halogen.
take a bulb out go to halfords measure up with the halogen equivalent )something like h4 ) and go ebay .I think these used to have a large round base but sorry a long time ago.
Easy peasy

go to tinyurl.com/psqkc and halfway down the right hand side click "Which lamp type for your car?".
|

H4 as well so the memory is still basically intact as well :-)

Try this site, select your vehicle type and then click on "show on screen only"
this will give you all the pictures of each STANDARD replacement bulb and their common ID..

Re upgrades. see Osram Silver Stars or Philips
I got my bulbs from
www.powerbulbs.co.uk/
I have separate headlamp/dip bulbs so I ordered one lot and then ordered the second lot
I thus have two sets of 5w5 bulbs and I am even more impressed with them that the the very good head/dip bulbs.
IIRC they gave 10% discount on subsequent orders if placed within a monthof the previous order..

still cant find it
its not a regular h4......the base is differant, so its the old style bulbs base with a halogen molded on, i guess theyre pretty rare now

You want P43t h4 for the Polo.

Most factors will recognise them as R12/H4
Ask them for a R410 halogen conversion. Any body with any knowledge will be able to identify it and source it.
