Nil HC & CO MOT emissions readings - Victorbox
My wife's Corsa has just passed the MOT & I note the emissions print out shows under the fast idle test CO is 0% "%vol" & HC is 0 "ppm". Is a nil reading possible? Admittedly the 2005 read out showed only small amounts - same garage. The only difference is the engine has been run on Shell Optimax & now V Power for nearly 12 months.

an engine and ancillaries in perfect harmony,i only usually find these figures on something like a micra

I got idle CO reading of 0.00% on my MOT for my Saab 9000, this year and the year before (1995N, 162kmiles). [CO at fast idle was 0.01%, HC was 1ppm, lambda was 1.00].

Although the engine runs perfectly sweetly it was still a surprise when my wife's 1995 306 Sedan XU7 1.8 also had zero readings at the last test.
