My bro, who lives in Moreton-in Marsh, was recently invited to take part in an evaluation at the Fire Service College, so located, of "active" road safety measures that adapt to the prevailing conditions. For his time he received £50 of Halfords vouchers but says it was also an interesting experience and a different type of day out. He has cerebral palsy - not known to the organisers when he was invited - so was also able to bring a less able bodied motorist's viewpoint to the table.

I saw something on TV a few weeks ago and the reporter had just come back from Japan. The latest GPS systems used over there not only show the roads, but also a respresentation of the traffic on them. This appears to be a version of the system in the link.
