Are there any Aston experts out there? Somebody told me he had read (he can't recall where) that Aston Martin only produced 2100 cars in the 91 years to 2005. Can this be true, at only 23 cars a year?

No this isn't true. Over 4000 DB7's have been made which is more than all the other models combined so it's going to be around 4000 to 8000.
However I do recall that one lean year in the 70's the total production for that year was in the teens?

Wrong again as usual, a quick look at the Aston Martin Forum states total production since beginning of time has just exceeded 30,000 so there!

i remember reading a quote somewhere about the times during which they lost money on each car and a famous Hollywood film star (Dean Martin possibly) wanted one and asked for one at cost price...to be told by David Brown that most customers preferred to pay considerably less than that
