past car racing - Westpig

something TVM has just said on the Raymond Baxter thread has reminded me of a quest i failed miserably on a few years ago........ i'm hoping someone can help.

A long time ago i watched a motor race that was completely enthralling and had me on the edge of my seat..

it was a saloon car type race involving a Camaro, mk1 Escort and a Vauxhall Magnum (Viva type) having an epic battle lap after lap after lap........ it went on for ages...... eventually the Camaro spun off

at some point it was shown on the t.v. under the guise of 100 Great Sporting Moments..

i can't even remember what circuit it was

any clues?......... i'd love to see it again
