Hi all, we have a Pug 306 1.9TD. every now and then it wont start, thought it might be glow plugs and so on as not sure when last seviced. Just had it serviced and still same problem. Im now thinking along the lines of the immobilser. Ive read on sites that these can be a problem so we want to disarm, or bypass it. Any ideas how or who wil;l do this for us.
Also any ideas how it works i.e. does it work on the fuel pump or starter motor????
All help would greatly appreciated.

when it was serviced are you sure they did the glow plugs? I wouldnt like to start messing with immobilisers unless you were sure. Id rule out all other possibilities 1st such as fuel filter and plugs etc. or even get a diagnostic done

The factory immobiliser has a manual override too (if pre-keypad). If you like I can look in the owner's manual but it basically involves pressing the switch on the side of the steering column.

can disable the immobiliser by typing in your code then disconnecting the keypad but this will invalidate your insurance.

Id be tempted to take it to a peugeot specialist (or citroen) i got a saxo diagnosed with an electrical problem for around £25
Peugeot wanted £45 for a diagnostic check.
I also had an imobiliser bypassed for a tener by an autoelectrition!
dont know if this helps but dont get ripped off by dealers!

can easy bypass it yourself, it's only a 3 wire circuit so doesn't take much working out

Put code in as normal, start engine, with engine running remove centre console and unplug the keypad, this renders the immobilzer inactive.
