One of the more grotesque manifestations of the current phase of consolidation in the world automobile industry must be the appearance of the Chevrolet badge, a notably meaty and inelegant American symbol forever associated in my mind with roaring military trucks and heavyweight saloons driven by US chavs, not to mention various Corvettes, on that sweet little Noddy car the Daewoo Matiz.
The badge itself seems to make the Matiz top-heavy so that it looks as if it might fall over.

I guess you haven't got out much lately then ?
World falling apart, mtooring going up the Swanee, countries at war, people dying, climate gone silly, but you're worried about whether or not a car badge is a grotesque manifestation of consolidation ??
Nothing on the telly either ?

Did I say I was worried about it FMR?
I know it's Monday but I feel you may not survive the week unless you relax a bit.
Perhaps you should stay in more?

A whole page of Google image results just shows a small + sign on the front...

Yep for me a desirable Chevrolet is a late sixties Camaro, not a far Eastern shopping car. Now they have a ready made dealer network, will we see Corvettes and new Camaro sharing showroom space with the former Daewoos? I hope not, even a Lacetti, not to mention a Matiz, would IMO look silly next to a 6 litre V8 Camaro!
;o)

I think they are selling the Corvettes alongside the Cadillacs, so maybe theyre better off selling them alongside the 'Chevrowoos' as atleast they might get some footfall in the showroom :)

And did you know the BMW badge is the symbol of a spinning propellor from their aero-engine making days.
Off course you did.
|
The correct meaning of the Chevrolet badge is that it represents a 'bow tie'
AKA the *Chevrolet bow tie*

What you mean like a Porsche bike and shades?

So they say, but the white-and-blue chequered pattern also comes from the Bavarian coat of arms.
