polo or colt for learner driver - rustbucket
My youngest daughter now 17 wants to start to drive.I have been offered the choice of a K plate 1.6 Mitsubish i colt 85000 miles very clean body work had a head gasket last year and know both owners from new.Or a K plate VW Polo 90000 miles very taty dented body work had a lot of work ,new head gasket last year , suspention front ,clutch drive shaft boots, front wheel bearings.VW Polo £500 too much me thinks and the Colt £800.
We already have a Polo same age/type so can repair myself ,the Colt I have no experience of .What do I need to look out for on the Colt, ie problem areas or known problems.Any help appreciated so I can decide.

Hi Rustbucket. Get some insurance quotes first and bear in mind this will be her car after she passes her test. You may find the 1.6 colt a lot more expensive with L Plates on and a young driver. Regards Peter
