No, not that sort of Panda: this is a FIAT Panda.

Somewhat modified, of course :)

Talking of sodden pandas, my wife found one in the garden in Sussex on Saturday, it having rained the previous night. There were also a sodden tiger and a sodden teddy bear. The finger of suspicion points at Mirabel (4) whose bicycle was also left outside.

Surely a Fiat Punto would have been a more appropriate choice?

Need a long Polo to cross the channel though.

Doesn't Barchetta translate as "little boat" ?
Somewhat more suited to cross channel duty.

Didn't anyone tell you that it usually works out cheaper to get the ferry? ;)

It was on a ferry (albeit a big one) which turned over and sank, which probably why it was cheap.

PU, there should have been a notice to warn you not to stand on the edge of the ferry until you had given up the pies ...

The man's basically converted his Panda into a boat, so it's not surprising it was able to cross the Channel!

Interesting para in that article "The value of the cargo was put at £30m, though the cars would have fetched double that at retail prices, motor industry experts say"
Is that accurate? And if so, what's going on that there is 100% markup betwen factory gates and showrooms?

Because, no doubt, they were heading for the UK where the population is taken, quite literally, for a ride prices wise..:-)
