Vauxhall Cavalier mark 2 1986 ( hose ) - cavvi
Hi, I need help again, I have noticed that there is a hose that has split badly so much that the water is draining very quickly from the radiator.

It is split where another pipe comes off it.

Its the one that runs under the air filter at the back of the engine. sorry do not know what it is called.

The hose has another pipe ( moulded ) coming of it , the hose is like a "T" shape.

My question is where can I purchase this type of hose from or would one from a modern day car fit.

I have been to a few places to buy this hose but have had no luck as it has another pipe coming of it .

Thankyou.

You will be surprised what you can still get from a helpful Vauxhall main dealer. I stress the word "helpful". If they can trace the part number from their parts microfiche they can generally still get stuff like this from Vauxhall at Dunstable or Opel in Germany within a day or so. Often it is down to how the parts department guy is feeling that day.

Obviously most engines from the Mk 2 were carried over to the early Cav Mk 3 so hoses etc can still be obtained with a little detective work. The dealer will have a nice computer screen exploded diagram for the CAv Mk3 to look at.

Failing that, try Autovaux www.autovaux.co.uk/

or Vauxhall Heritage www.vauxhallheritage.com/ but better to ring them or e-mail them as their website parts locator is pretty naff.

Oldam Victorbox Thankyou for your help it is aprreceated .

I will nip up to Halfords now and see if they can order it luckly vauxhall is just across the road.

The thing is I can now go and ask questions with confidence as I know nothing about cars and no matter how I try put a spanner in my hand and confusion sets in. Mechanics not my thing.

Thankyou have to say this car remains on the road down to the people who have helped in various posts when there is something wrong with the car.
