Ive got a 1998 Daewoo Nubira estate and when i start the car ABS lights up then goes out as expected..... but when you release the handbrake it comes on again.... Apply Handbrake goes out..... Its seems there must be a dodgy connection somewhere and i wondered if anybody could point me in the right direction.

Does the abs light come on at the same point as the handbrake warning light ? If you move the handbrake up adn down do they act together?
I had a 911 with abs light problems - caused by a faulty clock of all things. You might need to check the wiring in the dash / instrument cluster.

yes it does, its like they are linked together, the split second one goes out the comes on.... Me thinks ill be taking the dash out at the weekend .

I'm not familiar with this car, but, Is it worth checking the brake fluid level before pulling the thing to bits?

Ive checked the brake fluid and thats at the correct level

Could it be the handbrake cable touching the ABS wiring on one or both the rear hubs?
