Could a 2.0 RT gearbox fit on my 1.8 RT sport laguna?
Both are 1998.
Theres one going on ebay and if it fits ok I know a garage that will fit it for me.(cheaper, alot cheaper than Renualt)

An expert will be along but would think the gears will be all wrong for you. 2.0 vs 1.8 and all that. Just applying common sense. It's not a question of fit.

Are there pt. nos. shown on them?

Look at the gear linkage system if it is exactly the same then there is a good chance it will fit,a good source to find out would be a Haynes manual.

What I found out about it is its new and it was bought for 2.0 litre auto RT model on a 96 plate and they were sent a manual 96 by mistake. They have got rid of the car now so no good to them.
Any good to me???
ps. My Laguna is a R reg 98

Try asking for the gearbox code off their unit, and match it up with yours. It will be something like JB3-??? or JC5-???. Lots of garages I know just make sure the first 3 digits match up before fitting a 2nd hand box. By the way, are the sellers that rich they can afford to keep a new gearbox they don't need, why don't they just send it back to the supplier?

I have know idea. Its ebay. Guy says its brand new and still on a pallet.
