Astra Seat - Dusty321
As one of the many Astra owners, I am having real problems keeping the seat upholstery clean. They appear to be the worst at attracting dust and just tend to look drab no matter how much effort in vacuming I do. Do any other Asta owners have any good ideas on sorting this other than buying new seats or covers ?

First I've heard of it - I haven't seen any comments on any of the Vauxhall forums I look at. Also my dad has an Astra (2001) and the seats aren't a problem to keep clean at all. Any stubborn bits of fluff are easily removed with one of those lint rollers.

Have you tried one of those "defluffing" brushes, You can buy one from a pound type shop, they're made out of a grained velour material that pulls the bits out of the upholstry. Very effective.

i wrap masking tape backwards round my hand for this purpose ideal for doggy airs............
and cheper than a pound shop ..........
a lot of these astra"s have that horrible beigey interior maybe thats the problem? or that grey colour they show dirt up as well in my opinion.......i would be more concerned for my bad back and poor driving position rather than a bit of muck on the seat OP get rid of car pronto and buy a nice almero ............ ;-)

That's weird. My Zafira presumably has the same interior cloth as the Astra & in my case the Alpha trim in charcoal is the easiest I've ever had to keep clean. On its first day after delivery my wife sat it in in a fluffy jumper leaving white fibres all over the seat. It sort of self cleaned itself onto the clothes of all of the subsequent passengers in a day or two! I often don't vacuum it out just a quick wipe over with a damp lint free cloth gets the worst of the debris off.

Happened in my L-reg Astra. I got one of those upholstry cleaner things and was astonished to see the seat come up a different colour!
