I understand thatthe "best" polish for water repellency, shine, and protection is those containing carnauba wax.
Had a look on Ebay, and there are many brands....
Can anyone recommend any particualr one, and is "pure" ie. 100% carnauba wax best, and indeed which products are pure 100% wax
Are there any disadvantages with this stuff, or something even better ?
I know some people swear by autoglym, but some say carnauba is better even than this.....
Thanks in advance !

PS
It will be unlikely you will ever get 100 per cent carnauba wax products.

Carnuba wax will oxidise a lot quicker than 'processed' stuff - it's the same stuff used to make Skittles etc shiney! (I think) so it's a pretty 'weak' substance.
|
A 100% carnuba wax would be like a brick, the best you want to hope for is 40-50%. There are lots out there, but one I'm very happy with is XXXHardcore wax from a company called carwashnwax ( www.carwashnwax.co.uk/ )

The carnauba is very good. I have some 'unbranded' carnauba I bought on Ebay which is excellent, have a look at item no 8077258132.
The only snag with carnauba that I can see is that it is not in any way abrasive (some may bsee this as an advantage). This means that if your cars paintwork is already fairly pristine it works very well, however on less good paintwork it may be an idea to use a slightly cutting polish before the carnauba to get that perfect finish.
I have some Autoglym super resin, which is okay, but I think the Carnauba holds its 'beading' ability for longer.

Autoglym super resin is a mild polish/cleaner with an acrylic sealer biult into it. It gives a nice finish and is perfect for the average Joe. A carnuba wax will add the finishing touch though, giving a much glossier wet finish.
As Roly93 says, there are no abrasives in a wax, for that you need a polish. And a wax will only look good if the paint has been prepared propperly. Get it fully cleaned de-contaminated and sealed, then apply the wax.
It's all in the prep!!!

I've looked on my car for a nauba and if I could find one I would wax it ~ but I can't find one anywhere!

, or something even better ?
If repellency, shine and protection is what you after, I?d recommend Bilt-hambers Autobalm.
