Help Needed Engine Required - Binky
I have just been given a price on new engine for my 320d BMW 2002, for car collection, new engine supplied & fitted.

Has anyone heard of Heathrow Motor Services in Twickenham?
Are they OK?

Binky - What route led you to HMS, rather than to a BMW independent or main dealer, for such a major job.

Interesting that your quest for knowledge contains no mention of the order of costs .....

Forgot to mention, Ask BMW how much an engine is, Its worth a phone call at least.

A 2 litre Alfa twin spark lump was only £2300 from Alfa a couple of months ago.

A mate of mine whos a mechanic ended up fitting it for a customer who had blown the original engine up beyond repair.

Help Needed Again BMW 320d - Aprilia
A new engine from BMW will be VERY expensive - possibly verging on uneconomic by the time fitting is included - even on a 2002 car.

Try FabBMW - they are breakers and I've used them in the past for BMW parts. They are honest and not too dear - they may have a damaged car with a suitable engine.
