oh so low, low, low mileage! - tack
I saw my neighbour today in her shiny bright red VW Golf 1.6 FSI. I see her often, but very rarely in her car. I asked her how many miles she had done. 3000 in 3 years from brand new. Anyone know anything beats that?

I have to wonder why people bother buying a new car to do 1000 miles a year. What's the point -- surely it would be cheaper to get taxis everywhere, and less hassle?

A friend of mine recently bought a Kia Magentis on ebay, 2 years old and around 700 miles on the clock, apparently bought by an old boy who fell ill. £7000 off new list price as well. I can understand why he bought it, a 2.5l V6, effectively brand new for £4500? Not bad going really.

You often find a few cars for sale with extremely low mileage, and their prices are sometimes just as extreme. There was a Mk2 (about 1984 ish) Polo on eBay last month with just 9000 miles on, and in Practical Classics again last month, there was a 1,400 mile 1984 Escort 1.3 GL for £4995

One of my customers, middle-aged early retired woman millionaire, drives a 4 year old Merc SLK 230.
It currently has 1400 miles on the clock and in the winter, it barely manages 10 miles a month, sometimes it doesnt move for 2 months at all.
They also have a Jaguar that is about 6 years old with 12,000 miles. They have an MPV for general use and about 4 'pool' cars for children and family to use.
