v6 mondeo lacking power - the get
Hi

i,ve got a st24 that is slugish it has no missfires but picks up like a 1.6 not 2.5 only faults stored are both lambda's faulty.could it be the cat ? thanks tony

Sounds like the catalytic converter monolith has collapsed or partially collapsed causing massive back pressure.
Have seen it quite regularly with cars with reduced ride height where the 'cat' gets impact damage or even thermal shock from puddles etc.
A garage should be able to test for excessive exhaust back pressure with a cat flow meter or similar. Sealey Tools among others also sell such devices.
