My book for a toyota previa 2001 D4D doesnt mention where you should place the axle stands, is there anywhere I should be putting them?

Does it have jacking points indicated on the sills?
my Toyota has indents front and rear each side, which the factory jack fits around.
When using axle stands, I locate them slightly inboard (couple of cm at the most) of these areas, on a flat part of the metal sill.
I use wooden blocks to protect the underseal. This has been fine to date on Celicas and MR2s, with no distortion of the floorpan.
Alternatively, locate them under a chassis crossmember, other suspension mounting points (ie where the trailing arms join the car body) or other jacking points mentioned in the manual.
These should be able to take the weight, as they are structural. Again, use wood to cusion/ spread the load.
