Has anyone had the promised April 2006 software update yet that was supposed to cure the electronic throtle problem?
My S80 (ETM replaced Jan 06)is stalling again today!

It is my understanding that the software update only makes the throttle position less sensitive. In this way there is less movement across the thin film potentiometer. However, the film will continue to wear and the problem will still continue to re-occur. BBA-reman recondition the units for £150 (ebay), as they are the same unit they don't need to be reprogrammed into the ecu. Reports vary as to the effectiveness and lifespan of this repair, but it is a lot cheaper than the £600-£800 per unit that volvo quote.
