Hi BigBadDave
So are you trying to tell me that it IS only ME that this happens to !!!! Besides, it doesn't ALWAYS rain in the Lakes - there was a weekend (well 2 days and one night) in I think it was 1988 when it didn't rain.

I prefer rain when the car is clean cos I live near a lot of dusty un-made roads
What car do you drive by the way MTC?

A Chrysler 300C and I absolutely love it.

Coolest car on the planet by a million miles.
You like it then? Recommend it?

I absolutely love it and recommend it to you (or anyone else) wholeheartedly. Don't buy one though if you don't enjoy complete strangers coming up to you and saying that they thought it was a Bentley !
So much to recommend it for, such little time to do it (I'm having to break off to msee to my son).
The diesel engine in it is the business and works VERY well with the auto..
& then theres the price of it .....
and the looks
and the space
and the spec
I could go on

And the colour, hence the tribulations of keeping it clean.

It has been raining non stop since the local water company applied for a drought order down here in surrey.
The grass is hiding a tribe of pigmies and I think the dog is lost in there.

MTC is bravely going where no man has stepped before (since yesterday) and it car cleaning time agsin.
Always assuming it stays nice and Arnie (my 300C)comes up well, I'll post a piccie later.

Always moaning, these southern softies...:-)
I'm another to wash my car just before it rains.
It rinses it and the paintwork is left streak free and shiny.
Much better than rinsing it with our hard water supply, which leaves marks unless you spend time with a chamois leather afterwards.

In the nicest possible way though. I love Murphy?s infectious enthusiasm for this car and his posts always make me smile.

Ah the Phantom Chain Yanker ! (multiple smileys)
It stayed fine, the car was cleaned, he came up beautifully, sometimes it all just makes it worthwhile !
& as promised, here's a piccie

phew, bit of a panic moment there, I thought that I posted a picture of me, my car valeter (my toddler son) and the Fat Controller (Sir Topham Hatt) at a Thomas The Tank Engine Day that I was at today.

The enthusiasm probably stems from also being on www.300cforums.com , have a look sometime when (if) your bored. Even though it is mostly US based, there are a few happy campers from the UK there. I often refer the American to Honest John tp broaden their knowledge of european cars and especially diesel diesel stuff ? you?ll find lots of posts from yours truly in there to entertain you.
They're a happy bunch pop in and say hello !
& beside theres a load of miserable sods on here already

Nice to see you kept the PT out of the photo. I have to say at that angle "thats a good looking motor - wish I had one"
Happy Motoring Phil I

Thanks for the kind words Phil.
& It stayed dry after he'd had his wash as well.
Would you like me to post a couple of piccies of my wifes PT for you to make you smile on a Bank Holiday Monday ?

That would be very kind of you. TIA Phil I

I agree. To the extent that if it rains, I just clean the car in the rain. No point whinging about it in my opinion...just get on with it.
Same with if it rains outside. Go out anyway...a bit of rain won't hurt you.
But yes, it is annoying but we may as well get used to it!!! Might as well just look at the bright side of life...worse things happen at sea!!!

Absolutely Murphy, if I was in the market for a new car it would be a 300C no doubt whatsoever. I just pushes all the right buttons for me, it?s an utterly butterly cool car. Has to be the saloon though with the Bentley grill. I like all those broad shouldered cars with low profile glass coming from America at the moment, love the new Dodge Charger.
Chrysler don?t always hit the mark however, I?ve just designed a spread on the new Sebring and appearance wise it?s a dog. Nothing nice about it whatsoever.

If the Dodge Challenger ever happens it'll be quite ahem "discreet" on the roads !
