Zafira Road Wheel Bolts & Tools Required - Nick Shep
Hopefully an easy one for forum members. I have recently been removing my wheels to clean and remove built up brake dust on my alloys, however, when I use the tools supplied by Vauxhall, I have to stand on the tool to undo/remove the road wheels and having looked at the wheel nuts, I have noticed that I am starting to round off the tops.

Can any member on this forum advise me on,what tools I require?

I currently own and use a trolley jack, I have a torque wrench (need help with what socket size I need for the wheel nuts).

I was looking at purchasing a 4 way wheel nut wrench.

Thank you for any advice you can give.

Nick.

I carry the type that takes different sockets with an extending handle makes life much easier.

Yup I carry the extending one as well, 1/2inch drive & comes with double ended 17/19mm socket. Easier to carry than a spider.
Got a Porsche 996 Cab out of trouble last year as his were so tight the wheelbrace with the car wouldn't undo them!

Wheelbolt size is 17mm.

I keep a foldable wheel brace in the boot (bought at LIDL) that opens out into a 4 arm wheel brace.

They do vary in price quite a lot.

If I use it when no torque wrench is available then I tighten the nuts with it in the non extended mode.

I bought an extendable wheel nut wrench from Wilkinson?s' for next to nothing. Identical to this one:

but it cost even less.

Are they this difficult to remove after you have tightened them to the correct torque using your torque wrench? Its often the case that garages get a bit enthusiastic with their windy gun.
