help with garage please - soundsgood

hello, i would love some advice. i bought a secound hand bmw from a garage recently. when i bought the car i noticed that it didnt have a spare tyre. i told the sales man who said that this was normal and that because i was buying the car on a sunday that i could pick up the tyre the following day as the stock room was closed. to cut a long story short i rand the following day was told that they had no record that my car needed a tyre and they would order one for me...i have rung the company on four occasions and each time told that its the first they have heared of it and that they will order one and tell me when its in stock...i dont know where or stand or what i should do.... ?

They are giving you the runaround. Get nasty with them but watch that its the correct size wheel and tyre when you finally get it.
Way back in the mists of time when I worked for a unnamed car centre a Granada went off the site with a Mercedes spare. Mercedes wheel came back three times. Every time exchanged for another spare from the forecourt stock. In the end it went off to the auction in the boot of a Moskvich pt.ex which even we did not have the gall to sell.

if garage local turn up and demand
if garage a distance away get a wheel/rim locally and write garage off as wasters

If you have phoned four times and they say they know nothing about it, have you taken a note of the names of who you have spoken to?

I would suggest going in, speak to your salesman, let him escort you to the parts dept and get it sorted there and then.
