Rough cost of wing repair - Ford Focus - mss1tw
I hit a Ford Focus while turning on Friday, in the front nearside wing. Being a decent chap I left a note with phone number, and he's finally got back to me today.

It has a pretty small dent, but has moved/been bent I think. Amazing the damage 2mph can do.

What sort of cost will this be to fix do you imagine?

Small dent fixable by one of the paintless dent removal outfits - around £75. If it's creased they seem to want to put a new wing on - £200 + painting £400??

My mate had a small scrape in his small van and they wanted to replace the whole side panel of it at enormous time and cost.

They wouldn't do it that way if there was a more economically viable alternative.

When I clipped the back of a corsa that pulled out on me, my (company) Focus had a bill of over £1,000 that included a new wing and new bumper and headlight, and was obviously an insurance job. Corsa didn't have a scratch on it!

My sons Focus, when parked, was scraped by a bus so no expense spared.
I did the rounds to get quotes to ensure it was repaired at a Ford specialist of my choice.
They advised not to change panels due to risk of rust but to fill, get new trim etc.
They did the expected superb job.

One of the other quotes from a non back street company, so called reputable one, quoted for
a new wheel & tyre. door, quarter panel etc etc.

Did his wing bend?

The damn thing might as well have been made of tin foil.

The 306 is not a solid car with regard to panels, but I luckily got away with scuffed bumper and headlight.

If it's possible it can be filled and straightened, that would be fantastic.

I've got a small dent about three inches long in the driver's door of my car made by some dozy prat with a supermaket shopping trolley - who didn't hangaround to own up to it.
I've only had one quote so far to get it fixed and it was well over £200!

Be cheaper to buy a new door from a breakers I reckon...

All depends how you hit it I guess. My Uncle's got a Mitsubishi L200 and backed it into an Audi 80. The entire back of his tailgate is stoved in but the Audi 80 just has a broken indicator!
