Folks,
Does anyone know a source for decent priced cats?
Mine is probably weldable, but a need a standby source.
I've done a Google, but wanted to ask of the "learned listmembers"
:-)

I can have a look for you tomorrow at work if you can post up the exact spec, age, gearbox etc.

Thanks,
This is for a 1997 2.5 Citroen XM diesel estate. The "ORGA" number (date and sequence of production) is 7175.
The original is away at a workshop where they are assessing the possibility of welding, so I don't have the numbers off the box - would they be useful?
Cheers

Cat not requried for diesels - bin in and get them to weld in a straight bit of pipe instead. Not sure if there was a pre-cat 2.5TD, but the down pipe from that would probably fit.

Is it illogical? It must be Citroen....

Richard,
I'm just a bit edgy about someone slapping "modified" on it. Or maybe I've spent too long dealing with insurance companies.
Too late now - the garage have just called and they have successfully welded it. Interestingly, Citroen Centre in Oxford (XM Centre That Was) had two, both of which had the same outer dimensions but no cat gubbins. Plus signs of either weld failure, reapir, or both.
