Morning all, was reading through the archive posts and noticed one that said that the indicators are supposed to flash when locking car using remote. Mine don't appear to, I have checked the troublesome micro-switch on the bonnet catch (as per previous postings) and this works fine so it must be something else. All alarm functions and locking functions work fine. A very minor issue but one of those niggely ones!

Any ideas???

as an aside to this my heated mirrors aren't working. I get about 11v through the wires to the mirrors but i think the element has burnt out. Resistance on them measures .984k(ohms) and .320k (ohms), am I right in thinking replace the mirrors

There was a similar issue here recently with a Bora, he disconnected the battery and all was well again (if you try this make sure you have the radio code). Do a search. Good luck with it ;-)

Re mirrors, check the wiring between the A pillar and the door (pull the rubber trunking back) Vws are notorious for the wires breaking off the back of the plug.

If you connect the mirror glass to the car battery the mirror should get hot to the touch and should prove if the elements are broken (put a suitable value fuse in line to prevent damage)

are those resistance values directly from the heating elements themselves? if you're going through some wiring and connections they could be giving you a false value/problem.

The resistance values are directly from the element connectors on the mirrors.
