front upper strut mount/bush - Pug 306 - mss1tw
Replacing a front upper strut mount/bush on a 306 - does this require the spring/shock to be disassembled?

According to Haynes it does but I've done the same job on the back of a car before and they just came out as a complete strut.

Thanks all.

Springs on most need spring compressors, damper just hangs, spring top end may have 3 locating bolts/nuts on top of turret,in order to get bush out spring has to be compressed otherwise it will cause extreme damage to you working on it.

rears may not have spring and damper in one unit as fronts, making life easier, also called Macpherson strut if my spelling is correct?

The spring had to be compressed when I did same job. I could see the mount had separated by pressing down on each wing top.
