Air Compressor - Morpheus
Thinking about getting an Air Compressor from Argos or somewhere cheap because every time I go to Asda to blow my tyres up their tyre inflator isn't working.

Does anyone else have one / experience of using them? Do they do a good job?!?

Yes they will pump the tyres albeit very slowly.

Invest in a separate accurate prssure guage

Would you say that if I got a cheapy Argos one with a digital preassure reader on that it wouldn't be accurate enough?!

The "digital tyre compressor" regularly advertised in the Telegraph and which also appears in widget catalogues (e.g. Coopers of Stortford) at £29.99 is excellent. It is accurate (I check it regularly) and the gauge is clear (unlike a Halfords one given to me). It's in the gadgets section here:

Air Compressor - Robin
Argos used to do a tyre inflator that ran off the mains as well as the ciggie lighter. Sadly not anymore. I want one of these for inflating paddling pools, airbeds and so on but cannot find one anywhere. Last time we had the family to stay I had to take the airbed out to the car to inflate it and it took ages (the footpump was kaput). Where can I find one?

I'd be tempted to use a car battery charger, that way you get a battery charger for whne you need one, rather than a second air punp.

Maplin do one for £5.99. I've got one similar. The only thing I notice is that there is no switch at the compressor end so you have to watch the gauge and pull it out of the lighter socket to switch it off which is a bit annoying.

We invested 60 pounds in a proper compressor, which is extemely handy for doing car and tractor tyres, and the bike if I'm feeling particularly lazy. :)
