MOT "Sticker" - Glaikit Wee Scunner {P}
Just noticed that new MOT certificates have got a peel off sticker incorporated.
What am I supposed to do with them?- I can not recall any guidance being given for car or bike.

Stick it somewhere out of the way on your screen. It may remind you of the date the next test is due.

I stuck mine on the slam panel under the bonnet. But I know its September anyway so not really necessary...

What's all this about? My new Mot, computerised, certificate issued March 16th 2006 has no provision for a pull off sticker. Are testing stations using different procedures, I thought the changes were meant to avoid that?

sticker is at the bottom on the back left hand side,

have you got a dodgy pass then :) from dave down pub ?

Here in New Zealand, our twice-yearly Warrant of Fitness (MOT) has a sticker that must be placed on the windscreen with punch-out parts, one for each month. So any passing policeman or parking warden can see if your WOF (MOT) is out of date, and issue you with a nice fine. I'm not sure why the UK doesn't have this, it could be a great fundraiser.
We don't yet have compulsory third-party insurance, but this will probably come some day.

Same here in France, also for insurance. I know this has been said many times before (often by me) but it seems a breathtakingly simple way of showing the world, and the gendarmes, that the car is legal.

And the same in Ireland. We get a disc for passing the NCT (MOT) which has to be displayed alongside the tax and insurance discs.

As a safeguard against not taking the NCT, you're supposed to present the NCT cert when renewing your tax, and your insurance is automatically invalid without a current NCT, but that's opening another can of worms...
MOT "Sticker" - horatio
But don't you only need an MOT (NCT) when the car is 10 years old?

It all depends whom the sticker is supposed to be aimed at. It might be for the benefit of police etc, or it might simply be a reminder to the owner.
In that case the last place I'd want it would be stuck on the windscreen where I'd see it every day and forget about it. I'd stick it in my diary, or on the calendar, or the kitchen noticeboard.

Won't be aimed at the police. The date can't be seen from outside the car. It acts as a reminder to the driver.
