Just seen an AA van in the Guildford, surrey area this week that says AA in big white and red livery ,are the AA being rebranded?

Looks that way, saw one in North Wales yesterday in a new livery as you describe. I also noted that the roof mounted lightbar (which was switched off) was colourless, I assume one of these newer LED type which only shows it's colours when switched on.

Not seen this myself, as yet.

BUT... what happened to the legislation that was to have been, implemented by EU rules, that ALL secondary emergency type operators were to have high visibilty yellow/orange vehicles.

This was announced at around the time BT changed from sunshine yellow, to foggy morning grey - a less safe colour, couldn't have been available!!

RAC went to orange & AA enhanced their chevrons, but not sure of anyone else.

Speaking of the orange RAC livery, when I visited Germany about 7 years ago, I was surprised to find the local municipal vehicles in a very similar scheme (orange with red/white diagonal stripes on the offside rear). Coincidence? I think not...

if they are, they missed an opportunity to introduce it in the ads with all the singing patrolman. Don't make sense to me

It's the AA. It doesn't make sense to anybody!

The van I saw was still primarily yellow, but the AA branding was different.

I've seen one. Looks a bit of a mess, really. The Transporter currently in the advert to the right looks far smarter.

Have seen one close up now ,still a yellow van but with huge white writing, doesnt shout AA straight away, only a smaller AA box symbol on front doors ,think these will confuse people.

No, that's a completely separate company, although BT is one of its clients and TUPEd a load of staff to them a few years ago:

www.theregister.co.uk/2002/03/25/computacenter_con.../
BT openreach

That has to have a separate identity under an agreement reached with the regulator:

He ought to have gone years ago:

Bring back Buzby is what i say.

I was also wondering this after seeing these new lightbars, after a bit of Googling I found that they're 'Streetlazer' LED lightbars manufactured by American firm ECCO www.eccolink.com and supplied in the UK by Vision Alert, although the Vision Alert website is well out of date and makes no mention of the product.

www.emergencyequipmentshop.co.uk sell them online.
