Does anybody know where the lamp is that illuminates the mileage on a 306 2.0 hdi and how to change?

Try thumping the dash with the heel of your hand (or a shoe!). Used to get the clock lights to come on in my old 306.

But might destroy the rest of the dash electronics in the process.

I imagine the bulb is behind the odometer display (suprisingly) and you'll need to remove the instrument cluster to get to it. Sorry that sounds a bit vague, but something like a Haynes manual will give you better instructions.
