DD, I've sort of done this, but sometimes I seem to get the shock when I let GO of the door/frame.
Also will it be dependant on what I wear (fleece/jumpers)?

i always find it worse when i come back to certain cars and try and use the palm of my hand to touch said vehicle first as if a protuding key is the nearest thing to the car you can sometimes see the spark (not healthy to the longevity of any circuitry in the key fob ive always thought ?)
and i cant find leather soled shoes with toecaps :(........

You don't wear polyester do you ?
What about wool ?
I used to get static shocks when wearing a fleece, something about the material rubbing on the seats. Similar with wool jumpers sometimes.
When you drive you are sitting rubbing your clothes against the seat all the time, lots of little rubs, so if its a combination that generates static you get hit. Touching a metal bit of the car before getting out helps.

I have never found that helps,if I am wearing something that produces static I get shocks when in shops, as well as getting in or out the car.
Have to admitt my Rover is the worst car I have had for getting belts off
