Off to the pistes on Fri (Chatel) any recommendations car hire wise?

I've always used Alamo or Budget at GVA and never had any problems. Don't get fooled if you are asked if you want to upgrade your car. This means that they don't have any models of the class you've booked and they will have to upgrade you free anyay.
Try looking a Expedia.co.uk. I've recently been using them for car hire and found them to be a painless experience.
Have a good drool over the watches on the way back for me !

I used these guys for a Xmas holiday www.rhinocarhire.com/Car-Hire/Switzerland-Car-Hire...x which was really cool. But make sure you book the right side, ie French or Swiss side. they also have statiscits for the last 24 months on rental prices which is really cool I think.

If 100 km a day is enough for you, then try Easycar. I've got an absolute bargain from them before now, but on the other hand, i've also had a ridiculous quote. Worth checking though.
Disadvantage is you're expected to wash the car before bringing it back, although they give you a map of nearby places. They also don't care how much fuel is in the car at either end. Last time I used them, this means I got almost a full tan when I collected and took it back running on fumes. It almost made for a free rental!!

We used Sixt 3yrs ago [we try for the cheapest usually!]- asked for medium sized estate and they gave us a 407 estate - lovely car.
It was a bit confusing initially as we had to go into the French section [up the stairs and thru the barriers] to their other office desk but all OK in the end.

Car hire3000 have come up with some keen prices for me, in the recent past.

I used Holiday Autos - w w w.holidayautos.co.uk - when we flew to Geneva to visit Switzerland last Feb. They offer various prices (and their additional insurance costs seemed to be more comprehensive and cheaper than others). Once you have booked, they tell you who the Rental company will be - it turned out to be Alamo last time. At the airport I was given a choice of something 'flash' but pokey (BMW 1 series or Giulietta, I think) or a Meriva. Had to take the latter as space was an issue - turned out to be top spec model.
No problems with rental or car - snow tyres coped with the -18deg.
(I have no connection to company).
(When I took my son to the 2005 Geneva Motorshow, we flew via Basle/Mulhouse. Wasn't aware of HA then so booked direct with what seemed to be the best deal with a major company. Booked on the French side, as it was a fair bit cheaper, and was given a new Modus. As it was French, there was no Swiss motoorway vignette, so I had to get that at the border, thus reducing somewhat the saving I had made...)
