Unleaded - Super Unleaded - wonderwheels
I own a Vectra Sri 04 2.2 Direct.Is there a noticeable difference when filling up with the Super Unleaded? if there is,what is regarded as the best brand? Shell Optimax?

Most of the time I just use Sainsbury's 95Ron unleaded in my 2.2 direct injection. Occasionally it might get some Esso.

Still goes like poo off a stick, without the added expensive of paying extra for super unleaded.

I had a 2.5 V6 Vectra a few years ago, I found I got around 10% better economy on Optimax which covered the extra cost plus it felt more responsive. BP Ultimate should be comparable.

I know there have been tests which say only high performance engines benefit from super unleaded but I not sure. I had a Civic 1.4 and I agree that there was no performance difference but the engine did run far smother especially at lower revs. I did get more miles with Optimax when compared with regular unleaded and was happy to pay more for the more relaxing drive. I know others who think exactly the same who have never went back to the normal stuff.
