Cutting out ford fiesta auto - deepwith
Hope this is the right area for this:

1992 Fiesta 1.3 auto, well maintained and otherwise fine, is cutting out when handbrake is applied and put into neutral. Won't start for a while (while traffic lights change 3-4 times for instance) then is fine again. AA and usual garage cannot sort it out - any ideas?

sounds like the carb is flooding maybe due to lots of work through its life?stop/start etc
when car in neutral the revs should rise slowly to compensate for set off stall does it do this?
can you see another cable going from carb to gearbox for this purpose?is it free if it has one?
are you sure the breathers are clear on the engine specifically the oil filler top up? this will make it stall at tickover (try a new one £3 at a factors)check the pipes are clear going to the bottom of the air filter box braddle them through and at the inlet manifold.
The brake servo pipe that goes into the manifold sometimes comes in and out pull (under acceleration /stopping hard to find till you know it does it) it see if it does as this will cause your problem.
