What are the classic chav cars these days???
I recently asked a question about buying a high mileage Lexus 1S 200. Many Thanks for all comments - it was one that more or less described them as 'flash-harry' cars that got me wondering.(I know that a flash-harry is not necessarily a chav, but I'm thinking worst-case scenario here).

I'd say Corsa, Saxo, Punto and to a lesser extent older Fiestas.
The Lexus is way beyond the means of your average Chavscum kid.

Lexus would be up their with the various BMW's you see running around with a Rizlas worth of ground clearance and 44" chrome wheels. Because they look so much more classy like that...

Absolutely any car, surely, since absolutely anyone can come into money, get credit or nick a motor?
Of course it does jar a bit when someone wearing a baseball cap drives past in a really nice motor. 'There's no accounting for taste', one mutters to oneself with a shudder.
I mean what's a self-respecting young English yeoman dressed in traditional Burberry doing in one of these flash VW Bentleyoids?

Any Subaru with a big air intake on the bonnet, big spoiler, ridiculously loud exhaust and, usually, Gold coloured wheels.

Saw a black big-jeep-thing, don't ask me what but big, shiny, rounded, blacked-out windows and sounded like a V8, with the aforementioned 44 inch rims but with those awful chrome spinners that make you feel dizzy just to look at them, like standing up inside an old prismatic set of lighthouse reflectors and lenses (anyone ever tried that?), cruising past this morning.
There's no such thing as a better class of chav.

Saw a black big-jeep-thing cruising past this morning.
Saw it again this afternoon. It had a GMish look about it: Cadillac? Chevrolet?
I think it belongs to the bookie down the road. Used to have a late model Bentley (a proper English one). Is he coming down in the world or couldn't he resist the spinners?

Out of curiosity, since one of those very cars regularly wakes me up, what sort of effect would a few tennis balls rolled down the exhaust pipe when it's quietly parked up have?

Not quite the same as a raw potato cut to size using the pipe as a cutter for a good, tight fit. More environmentally than a tennis ball.

One of what very cars by the way? Immaculate old RS1800s, chav Escorts like mine which are quite quiet actually or those things with drainpipe sized exhausts of which there are several round here, at least one of them an otherwise unobtrusive looking Honda saloon? Just curious.

If any of these kids had brains they would try to be different but they haven't and they don't. For very little money they could buy very fast cars and be diferent than the corsa crowd. The insurance would cost no more co's they ain't insured anyway. Especially if as a named driver on Mums policy. There are dickheads here in rural North Devon who could be scouped up for any number of offences by the dopiest of plod, but nothing ever happens except to easy target main stream respectable taxpayers.
5 to 16 years of age = 11 years of compulsory education and they still can't read or write or pronounce things properly. Great Britain Eh!..........VBR....M.D.
