There's an organisation called FATE - Federation of Auto Transmisison Engineers.
You can email them at fedauto@transcentre.plus.com
If you're within striking distance of Huffersfield I can recommend Automatic Transmissions Ltd 01484 426243. They know their stuff. No connection other than as customer.

Huffersfield is of course twinned with Huddersfield as any ful kno.

After their performance on Friday at hartlepool I think Huffer is more appropiate.

Had problems with a gen 5 Honda Prelude Autobox. Original repair was bodged and cost £2000! Kept failing till warranty ran out. HJ recommends Trevor King of King Automatics, Epsom 01372 728769, so I've just had it repaired by him. Let's hope all is well this time.
Good luck! - autoboxes are a complete 'mare when they go wrong. There doesn't seem to be much knowledge out there, just bull.

Well, FATE is your best bet - URL already given.
Derek King at 'The Mechanical Workshop' in Leicestershire has been doing auto for about 30 years and gets a lot of Ford CVT's to rebuild. To be honest I suspect few transmission repairers have seen an Audi Multitronic - most will still be within the dealer network and major repairs will be 'unit swaps'.
Having seen the service manual for a Multitronic I would say its best to get shot of it if its your own car. The technology is fraught to say the least - they depend on about 50 variables being 'spot on' to work properly - looks a complete nightmare to repair - if indeed its possible (could be Audi-only factory rebuild).
