Clarkson's Comeback - Honest John at his dad's
Anyone been reading JC lately. (You can admit to buying The Sunday Times and the Friday Sun here.) Thing is, he's back into testing cars again. And a lot of the stuff he's been writing gets you nodding in agreement when you're not laughing at the metaphors. The Balding Eagle's Nest (ben) has got to be sharpening his teeth in preparation for a tv comeback. That's going to be fun.

Re: Clarkson's Comeback - Tom Shaw
He would actually get me watching Top Gear again, especially if QW returned as well. It got so boring I haven't bothered with it for years.
Re: Clarkson's Comeback - Tomo
QW reminds me of Minder....
Re: Clarkson's Comeback - Simon Saxton

Cant wait HJ! However I have to admit that having read both his S.Times
articles(Once I ploughed through the mush) there were some interesting & factual comments to be found.I too would appreciate seeing Q.Willson again.
Question HJ, what car has your Dad bought now?
regards
Simon.
Re: Clarkson's Comeback - David Withers
I was about to buy the Sunday Times today when I saw that I would be paying for a Clarkson supplement -- so I saved my money.
Re: Clarkson's Comeback - nick
Do you know if J.C. reads your site H.J.?
Re: Clarkson's Comeback - Honest John
In answer to Simon, my dad's got my bother's Passat TDI 115PD manual. (My brother's gone for an imported L200 twin cab for his business.)

I very much doubt that JC reads this site. Too beneath him. But that doesn't stop me rating him.

do you get any feedback on whether manufacturers (and main dealers) read this site?

Re: Clarkson's Comeback - Honest John
Very little feedback. Had SEAT complaining that a recall had got mixed up. I know Audi reads the site, but paradoxically VW doesn't seem to (they have trouble getting access because their lines are too busy).

If a problem with a car starts to emerge and it's going to be expensive, manufacturers never jump straight in and acknowledge it.

It could be I'm giving people too much bad news, and if that's what the manufacturters collectively decide they will never support the site and it may have to close through lack of funding.

Re: Clarkson's Comeback - Mick
HJ I would have thought that Autotrader or Halfords would have been interested in sponsoring the site - seems like a great opportunity for them. It would be a real pity if the site folded.
Re: Clarkson's Comeback - Simon Saxton

HJ,
I know that this subject was discussed in detail in the past & that some of us indicated that we would be prepared to pay to subscribe to the site. I presume that you have considered this?
I subscribe to a twitchers (Birdspotters) site...10 pounds a year & very good value too!
I would hate to see this one go under, apart from excellent authentic information, I get most laughs here!
Interesting regarding your Dads car, than you.

Simon
