im looking to spend £200-300on some new car audio. Im interested in cd/mp3/dab just wondering peoples opinions these days?

They suggest the digital JVC KD-DB711 for about £199.
I think it comes down to this, or a £95 Halfords weekend special. I bought a Sony heavily discounted (they always are! but it was true) for about £90. Checked the web and the nearest was £105. So, off to buy and easily fitted. Basically drops in and connect up via the increasingly standard jack plug connector. Sounds great. If it is stolen, it's sad, but not the end of the world for that money.
Personally I can't get exited by the latest car stereos. Watching lads spend a fortune on moving facia images seems juvenile to me. £90 really will get you a good machine. Keep it simple. It is only a car radio.

Have a look at a Sony MEX-1GP on the Sony website. It has a detachable front panel with a built in mp3 memory.
