Honest john list 3 companies (employing an auction buyer section of the site) that will go to auction for you and charge a nominal fee. Has anyone ever used one of these companies and if so is it alright? Are there anything to watch out for?

I'm not in any way associated with the guy, but Joe Dowd has given me excellent service, and I've recommended him to several people, all of whom have been happy customers. His details are at:

Used Julian Trim to get hold of a Nissan Primera eGT in 1997. The car has now done 116k and (touch wood) running beautifully. Julian was recommended to me by a friend who had used him for two previous buys. I found him easy to deal with and efficient. One thing to watch out for is using a dealer/auction buyer who is nearby, as it costs quite a bit to employ a driver to deliver the car if you are a distance (and rail fares are expensive if you go to pick one up).
I was very happy with the whole business and would certainly consider using the service again.

yes that is a good point you raised there that never even crossed my mind. How do you collect the vehicle and are there any costs associated with collecting it?
Thanks for the info guys!

Mine came from Nottingham. I got a train there, paid off the account, then drove it home. Total cost £80 (including food, etc, on train).
Delivery would have been £150 Nottingham to Southampton.

Vin, is there a number I can get Joe on as I have emailed him and haven't heard anything yet (although it has only been 1 day). Also if I was keen on a vehicle I saw in a catalogue should I talk to him about it or does he source the vehicle for you?
|
He'll do it either way - he will look for you or you can direct him to likely candidates.
His number is on the website.
