V.interesting ad.for the Audi RS4 Quattro in the Telegraph Mag. on Saturday - a 14 page sci-fi 'graphic novel' type comic strip. Very dystopian,(sinister scientist, torture machines)which builds on the Audi 'spider' television ad. I thought it was a real attention getter. What did other Backroomers think of it?
|
I turned to the last page to see what the ad was for, then glanced at the magazine - yawn.
|
I glanced at it, and couldn't be bothered to read it, and they missed the hororscope out this week, or if it was a spoof horror story may be THAT WAS the hororscope - groan :)
|
I bet that cost a few pennies to produce. Never mind, they can hike the labour rate a little to cover it....

I've liked the A8 ever since it first appeared but I have no idea what the spider adverts are supposed to convey. As a hysterical arachnophobe I don't think I would want a car that is associated with spiders. Equally, I've no idea what the strip cartoon is about. And I had to look up dystopia. With a certain sense of relief I realise I'm evidently not Audi's target market. Phew.

Didn't bother to turn it upside down. A marketing flop.

Opened the mag at the back to look for the home and horoscope features. Saw the A4 feature and skipped it. Telegraph mag total rubbish this week. Left me cold.
|
Wife missed the horoscope, I thought it looked good but couldn't be bothered to read it.

Telegraph Magazine - Total, utter, pompous drivel.

let me be the last to let you down....

Ah, so that's what it was - an Audi advert! I took one look, thought it was some arty-pharty tripe and tossed it onto the paper pile.

Audi/VW/Skoda adds used to be clever and amusing. This was a pretentious, sinister, overlong complete waste, in my opinion... Who is the target market it was aimed at??
