007 - I think the link has gone.
There was a picture on BBC yesterday of someone clearing NY snow with something that looked like my lawnmower!

Ten-Four on that, Good Buddy.
Instead, click on this: www.nytimes.com/2006/02/13/nyregion/13snow.html?ex...1
Then click on the *second* picture down the left hand side and you will get the full set in the slide show from yesterday's issue. It is well worth doing!
Or, if you can wait a week or so.....according to a certain newspaper which the Mods might not want me to name on here....the Outlook (subtle clue!) is that we shall experience the American Dream (or nightmare, depending on your point of view) weather before long.
Enjoy!

I like the "Stay Back 200ft" signs on the snow ploughs with all the cars lined up 10 ft behind!

A reporter was in central New York this morning talking about the impact of the smoking ban and all the pavements were cleared - snow was piled up about 3 foot high on each side of the pavement!
Chicago have designated snow routes for when the bad weather comes. Parking is banned from such roads as the parking areas are used to pile up snow. If your car's parked there when it shouldn't be it gets towed!

I really hope the snow doesn't come here - our baby is due in next 2 1/2 weeks - and I don't fancy a) driving to the hospital in those conditions (or worse as the local council will do nothing to prepare the roads!) or b) delivering the baby myself as the midwife can't get to us!

The snow in Warsaw is a real pain because the ploughs push mountains of it onto the pavements which is where we all park. No problem for one clever girl in our building a couple of weeks ago though, who decided to push the snow with her car except that there was a concrete bin underneath and she hit it hard enough to blow the airbags.

I like picture No.9.....we *must* have ice, whatever the conditions!
