Chips Away - P.Mason {P}
I know there have been several threads on this subject,- can anyone tell me how to access them? I've tried the search facility, but it only brings up the FAQ answers.
I think I may be using their services soon!

My Dad had them out this week. They're now (at least ours is) known as CarSmart because they do air-con regassing and possibly other air-con repairs too.

The Focus had a slight scrape on the back arch (two scratches), a scratch on the top of the rear bumper and blistering paint on the top of the front bumper painted out. Total cost was £117.50 including VAT and although there is a slight orange peel effect on the top of the front bumper, it's generally a very good job and only noticeable if you know what you're looking for.

I'm very happy with my experience with Chips Away (St Albans), but it is a franchised system and quality does vary. It's worth checking with some of the local motor dealers as to whom they use and whether the local Chips Away is recommdende; they all use these outfits constantly to de-scratch and de-ding not just used but also brand-new cars.

As I've posted before, I wouldn't use my local (Hampshire)one again. It was a poor job when it was first done and now, three years later, it looks like it has been sprayed with an aerosol can.
