Thanks to Adam for the inspiration for my topic title;-) My cheap and cheerful Astra decided to lose some weight by dropping the exhaust back box and a length of pipework yesterday and it now sounds like the proverbial rally car! As I don't fancy spending a third of it's purchase price on an exhaust does anyone have any experience of repair kits? The ones I've seen in the past have a roll of sheet metal and jubilee clips with the claim "MOT approved" Any advice/tips welcome.

Not sure what you paid for the Astra but the last back box I bought for a Cavalier was only £35 fitted at Kwik Fit.

First hit on Google found a backbox to fit a 1.4 Astra at a cost of £13.11 + v.a.t, & £5.50 delivery.
