KIA Magentis 2.0 LE 4dr Saloon for £6,995 (a saving of £3500)with a 2006 plate from Autofinders (see Best Deals). Is this an absolute bargain? A car the size of a Mondeo for the price of a Fiesta.
According to HJ they are not a bad car. It's a shame I am not in the market for a saloon car as I might have been tempted by the price.

I read frequently, but only post when I have something useful to say.

They are sold as the Kia Optima in the US and seem to have a good reputation.
There is an all-new model arriving this year - presumably this is the reason for the discounts.

Yes, I saw this deal and thought that it was almost a disposable car. Buy it, run it for four years and suffer no more than £1,500 depreciation a year. It's sorely tempting isn't it? :-)

Espada III - well if you have a family and need a Lamborghini, what else do you drive?

A heck of lot of car for the money and it would be hard to find another car that would beat it on depreciation. Kia reliability and customer service appear sound - only problem is the image.
|
its a very underated car.
and suprisng for a korean car - quite safe, performs vewry weill in the USA.
its spacious, very easy to drive, not great economy but not the worst.
its a perfect mtorway cruise machine.
u cant go wrong for that sort of money.
reliability is excellent - i really mean that, the gear box on these while not up to your VW standard - isnt as sloppy asd the others in the range.

And comes with a free paper bag, head-sized, with two holes in it.
Only kidding - it´s a cracking deal. Anyone seriously considering it? Underrated moter, if the press are to be believed.

Moter= motor. Blame lack of sleep...

And for anyone thinking about it, apositive test from HJ of the V6:

It's a cheaper version of the previous-version Hyundai Sonata.
That car is very very reliable, and this one is no different.
If you can get past the badge, and the acres of plastic inside, it's a very nice car.
I'd be looking at it seriously if it'd come up again in six months.
These cars sell in large numbers in America and the Yanks do not tolerate bad reliability on the larger cars.

How many people would know, I wonder, if you bought one and put Lexus badges on it? I'd love to wind up my Lexus-owing friends...
|
"Lexus-owing" = "Lexus-owning". Mind you...

Give it another couple of weeks and buy one get one free.

Several years ago my previous neighbour had a very troublesome Jag X-tpye. Whilst it was at the dealers having the autobox swapped out, he was loaned a Magentis 2.5 auto. He knew almost nothing about cars and was initially a little annoyed at being given an 'unknown brand' car. However after 5 days he reckoned to be delighted with it and was talking about getting shot of the Jag and buying a Kia!
I've been in one as a passenger and it seemed absolutely fine to be honest - in fact had I been blindfolded I could have imagined myself to be in almost any modern mid-size car.

They might be £6995 from a discount site, but the're still £10995 at my local dealer "its already a bargain price sir"!
