BMW 318 i 99 model auto - kal
Please Help. Car when hot or cold and with a/c off seem to vibrate and nearly cut out but never does, vibration increases and idle speed drops further when turning with heated screen on, with a/c on vibration falls away as idle speed is raised. Is this a problem, should I worry?

This should`nt be a problem and is probably not being helped by the very cold weather thickening auto gearbox fluid and further increasing drag on the engine and should reduce/disappear when the weather warms up.!!!!

Always a difficulty in increasing engine idling speed with autos, as you`re likely to increase the car creeping forward in heavy traffic situations.

Is it possiblely due to an excessive diet of short runs, plus quality of fuel? I live in UAE so temp should not be a problem but perol refined through "ADNOC", Abu Dhabi National Oil Corporation is not to same standard as Shell or BP. Merc Diesals emit a lot of soot, you see them doing it around town? Does the car need a by pass de coke? At the last Service the pipe attached to the breather/PCV system was changed as it was partially clogged.
