I have a 1998 vectra 2.0 diesel.
Recently, I've had a problem starting .
The top of the fuel filterhousing has electrit circuit inside or control unit? and I wonder if someone can explaine me how to test this unit. I wondered if anyone else has had similar probems or any ideas for me?

Probably your leak off pipes letting air in.

you`ll find those wires on the filter housing are only for extreme temperature preheating.I´d follow the previous tips from these guys as the leak off pipes are a regular problem but remember dont let the diesel flow out of the supply pipe from the filter to pump if you are playing around with the filter housing and make sure the housing is full before you resealed otherwise good luck in getting it started! P.S. There are other possibilities like fitting a one way valve between filter & pump.
